Where would you go to fish? My son is at Montana State and turns 21 in two weeks. We're heading out to celebrate with him. For one of the days, Colin and his brother, and I get to go fish. It is going to be a DIY deal, no guides this time. Thankfully, it will be on a Monday, so hopefully we will find a nice place for ourselves.

Any suggestions?

Without hiring a guide, I would visit the fly shop of your choice in the area (your son might have a favorite), ask for a couple of fly recommendations and spend some money on the recommended flies (even if you already possess the same or similar flies. After your fly purchase then pursue whether the shop employee could suggest any recommended fishing destinations for your threesome. The good news is the crowds should be down by then... Here are my solid recommendations for food: Breakfast at the Jam Restaurant; and Dinner at the Blackbird Restaurant (you will need to make a reservation).
