    Default McCloud area lodging

    Heading to the McCloud for a few days next week, never overnighted, looking for motel recs, basic is fine close is best. Food a plus.

    Town of McCloud is your best bet there are a couple of hotels there. I have always camped out so I can't make a suggestion. From the town of McCloud it's about a 30min drive to the dam or an hour to get down to AH-DI-NAH. Other wise you have to drive to Dunsmuir or Mt Shasta for lodging.

    Thanks. Ended up staying @ the Swiss holiday lodge , which is right off the freeway and start of 89 as they were the only place I could get consecutive nights. Older place w some upgrades, very basic and small rooms but nice staff, great price and only 10 min or so out of McCloud, plus close to services in Shasta. Big green area for dogs and covered outside seating w lights @ night. Also an ancient hot tub in case you jacked up your back scaling a ravine, which absolutely didn’t happen.
