Yesterday morning my friend and fishing partner, Marty Lentini, caught a huge Snook on spinning tackle and an artificial lure.

That fish was released to make lots of babies.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife did a multi-year study and found that there are no less than 65,000 Snook within a mile radius of the inlet.

The Sebastian Inlet is one of 5 that connect the Atlantic Ocean to the 150-mile-long intercoastal waterway, the Indian River Lagoon.

All 5 of these inlets are good fisheries, with the tides bringing baitfish, crabs, and shrimp in and out on the tides.

Florida's fishing is not what it was 50 years ago but it is underrated. We have good fresh water, brackish water, and offshore fishing.
