After calling the "wind lady" early this morning seeing that overnight it rained a little here in the valley, I had thoughts about some Forebay fishing. According to the report, the wind was "zero"
So I decided to throw the pram in the back of the truck and truck on over. Made a quick stop at Starbucks in LB. Ya know, ya can't function without the shot of caffine.
Got to the Forebay, paid for boat launching and headed to my launch site. Seems like the water level is still up from the last time I was there.
I was on the water in a split second and motoring out to the bouys. Then I saw a couple boils inside the weeds so I turned the pram around and headed in the general direction. Made a couple cast and hooked into a small striper. Released him in no time, took a swig of the now luke warm coffee and once again headed to the bouys.
Didn't mark to many fish but then again, I don't count on the fish finder to tell me the truth. I use in mainly to find the holes and shoal line.
To make my long story short, I was getting bored so I decided to move closer to the weed line. I tired something different this morning. I tied on a Merkin Crab pattern about the size of a quarter and made a few casts into the weeds. Low and behold, a striper was hungry. Not a big striper but a striper. Also caught a small LMB on the Merkin.
Enough fishing, headed back home to work on the 20 dozen Sea Habits I have going right now. More fishing reports next week.
Ya know, it must be getting close to winter. It was pretty chilly out there this morning with a short sleeve t-shirt and shorts. :-D
