Another favorite not only for its effectiveness but its simplicity to tie. It can be done many different colors and sizes. I like to fish this behind a dry that is easier to see if I am casting further distances, otherwise solo during a caddis hatch. Here we go:
A cool product that is new to me, definitely could just dub on to a thread with your favorite dub, but this incorporates all in one.

wrap down and back on the shank of hook until you are satisfies with thickness.

you can whip finish it but it can tangle up in the process. try half hitching or tying off with thread.

a great product you should check out if you are into spinner wings, cripples, etc.

tie in krinkle zelon on top of the shank, leave a little space to finish your fly up front.

Trim off the back end, take another piece and figure 8 it on top of the shank towards the back abdomen.

Tie in hackle, in this case brown. Again you can use many color variations, dun is another great color.

keep the hackle pretty tight together if you don't use a under-dubbing like this one or if you are tying smaller fly

Tie off and whip finish in front of the zelon post. "Tiddy up" post and wings. I like to cut the wings just past the length of the body as the krinkled zelon with retract once it is let go.

Trim bottom half of the hackle to get it to lay flat and low in the water.

There you have it, here are a few varieties using different body styles and wing materials. enjoy!

What does SBS stand for in the pattern name?

Never mind. Step by step. Jees... I've only been tying for 45 years.
